Uniform Information

At Little Sutton Primary school, we encourage children to take pride in their appearance and remind them that, whilst wearing school uniform, they are ambassadors for our school.  Therefore, it is imperative that children attend wearing the appropriate uniform.

EQUALITY

This school takes seriously its legal obligation to avoid unlawfully discriminating against any protected characteristic and aims to ensure that the uniform policy is as inclusive as possible.

AFFORDABILITY

This school is committed to ensuring that its school uniform is affordable and accessible to all pupils and does not place an unreasonable financial burden on parents.

Most items of school uniform can be purchased from high street stores e.g. Asda, Tesco, Marks & Spencer etc.

Gogna Schoolwear is our main supplier of school uniform for sweatshirts and other items with the school logo on.  Uniform can also be purchased from Clive Mark Schoolwear based in Boldmere, Crested Schoolwear, 9smiles and Branded Clothing UK.

You may of course purchase a sweatshirt of the same colour from any other source you wish, with or without logo.

Parents can donate their ‘Nearly New’ uniform directly to the school office where they are available to purchase for a small donation.

Government or local charity funding towards the cost of uniform may also be available.  Please contact the school office for further information.

NON-COMPLIANCE

Staff members are permitted to discipline pupils for breaching this policy in accordance with the school’s Behaviour Policy.  In such instances, parents will be notified.

REQUIRED UNIFORM

The basic colours of our school uniform are grey, white and turquoise.

  • Grey trousers (long or short), grey skirt or pinafore dress
  • White blouse, shirt or polo shirt
  • Turquoise pullover, sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Summer – turquoise/blue and white gingham or striped dresses may be worn during the summer period

PE kit

  • House colour T-shirt*
  • Black shorts

  • Swimming costume, cap and towel (Year 3)
  • Tracksuit or jogging bottoms and warm top for cold weather use
  • Sports socks

*you will be advised of your child’s House and its corresponding colour at the Induction Session.

Craft overall

Children need to bring a painting/craft overall to school.  This item may well be an old, adult size shirt and there is absolutely no need to buy a special overall.

Jewellery

School policy is that children do not wear jewellery to school, although watches are permitted.  If your child has pierced ears, then we request that they only wear small studs.  Please ensure that these are removed before coming to school on days when your child has PE or Games.

Book bags and water bottles

Book bags can be purchased at the Induction Session and from the school office. If you wish to purchase your own bag, please ensure the bag can comfortably fit an A4 sized folder.

Children are required to bring in a labelled water bottle containing water only.

LABELLING AND LOST PROPERTY

It is important that all items of clothing, footwear, school bags and water bottles are labelled clearly with the child’s name.

Lost items, if named, will be returned to the child.

CHANGES TO UNIFORM

Parents and pupils will be consulted over any changes to school uniform.
